Make Something Dumb on Purpose
ADHD perfectionism kills creativity. Today’s challenge? Let AI help you make something ridiculous — and post it anyway.
Here’s a weird truth:
ADHD folks often care too much about what we create.
We want it to be:
Smart
Valuable
Polished
Original
Well-received
Probably award-winning if we’re being honest
That’s a heavy load to place on your brain before you’ve even begun.
So today? We’re flipping the script.
🧪 The Mini-Experiment:
Make something dumb. On purpose. With AI’s help.
The goal isn’t to go viral.
The goal is to make your brain laugh a little — and remember what it feels like to play.
🎨 Try one of these:
1. Prompt AI to make a parody of your niche.
“Write a tweet like a productivity coach who clearly hasn’t slept in three days.”
“Write a fake TED Talk title about why procrastinating makes you a genius.”
2. Make a “Bad Advice” post.
“Give me the worst possible advice for staying focused during a meeting.”
3. Create a ridiculous version of something real.
“Write a fake product description for a planner that gaslights you.”
“Summarize ADHD using only metaphors about squirrels, lava, and group chats.”
You can go deeper and weirder if you want. The only rule?
No pressure. Just play.
🧠 Why This Works for ADHD
Perfectionism is often a mask for fear — fear of being seen, judged, or rejected.
When you intentionally create something silly, you remove the stakes.
Suddenly:
You’re not trying to impress
You’re not worried if it’s good
You’re not frozen at the start
You’re just moving.
And movement is where creativity lives.
🚀 What to Do With It
Post it.
Or don’t.
But if you do? Tag it with something like #LowEffortHighFun or #MadeWithAI to let people know this was a vibe check, not a portfolio piece.
Who knows — it might be the most engaging thing you share all week.
💬 If you try this, reply and tell me what you made. Bonus points if it made you laugh. Extra bonus points if it made someone else laugh, too.
